The Circle of Aloha - E lei no au i ko aloha, I will wear your love as a Lei
"A lei is not simply a strand of flowers sewn on a string, it is a garland of the many strands
of love which grow over time, woven together into a symbol of affection and care for the recipient.
Things strung on a string are a necklace, a gift woven of love is a lei". -Leilehua Yuen
How To Make A Lei Hawaiian lei makers use a special lei needle,
if you don't have one simply use a large needle such as a darning needle. Work with the Aloha spirit - sing Aloha - and thread with Aloha.
Measure the length of the lei you would like...
Take the measurement around your neck down to the finished length... for example the center of your chest (about a metre).
Cut a piece of dental floss or soft string to this length - you want enough leftover to tie the ends together when you are finished stringing the flowers.
Carefully string the flowers together by going through the centers of the flowers, down the string.
When you have enough flowers on your string simply tie off.
