Frangipani House Kahuna Massage Training

Learn massage skills from Hawaiian traditions brought together in a course to benefit beginners and experienced practitioners alike. Level One & Two will give you all the skills necessary to give a full body Kahuna Massage. Advanced techniques are offered in Level 3 as well as in one day a time Kahuna Massage days.

Kahuna Massage is a flowing, beautiful massage that uses the forearms and a form of movement around the table. In addition to massage, the practitioner learns how to use focus and unconditional love in their massage practice. During this massage, we are aware of all the levels of being physical, emotional and spiritual and as practitioners we learn to work with the client on all these levels.

We break our Kahuna Massage course down into three levels, as most people have to work these days or have families to care for. There is a lot of information and skills taught and shared in the various levels and if you wish to attend all levels at once, we suggest that you have at least a 4 day break in between the courses.

Your teachers: are Kevin & Kareen Fellows - they have been practising Kahuna Massage since 1998 as well as having many years in Remedial Massage, Shiatsu Massage and Counselling Practice. Kevin became interested in massage through sport, and Kareen through her full time dance background. After marrying in 1988 they both developed a love of learning massage and now share the skills they have learned over the years in teaching.

How many students in the course? We tend to work with one student at a time - the way of the teachers of old - master and apprentice. However if you have a friend/partner/group that would like to attend with you, we train up to 4 people at a time.

Who do I massage during the course? We arrange for clients for you to work on during the course. If you have someone that you would like to work on during the course, they can attend for up to 3 hours, but not for the entire course. We like our students to experience working with a wide range of different body types to prepare for work outside the training.

Course Notes and Information: There are minimal handouts for this course, the only way to pass the course, is to be efficient in the massage, if we don't believe the student is ready for the certificate at the end of training, we don't give it out. Unlike training in a lot of areas today, this learning is very experiential, you learn by watching, then applying what you have learned. We guide you and demonstrate and are there for you to ask questions.

Course times:There are no pre-set course dates... it is simply a matter of arranging times that we both have available. The courses run from 8.30am to around 4.30 - 5pm.

Diet during the course:Our massage training does not involve detoxing or dietary systems. Our expertise is in massage, so we focus on massage skills and the theory of the Hawaiians. We break for morning/afternoon tea and lunch - healthy, light salads and fresh juices are offered and included in your course fee.

Location: We are located just near Lighthouse Beach in Port Macquarie NSW Australia - around 4 & a half hours north of Sydney. If you don't live in the area there are lots of great places to stay while you are training with us click here for places to stay nearby.
