At Frangipani House we specialise in Hawaiian Bodywork. Hawaiian Bodywork is also known as Kahuna or Lomi Lomi Massage. When we think of Hawaii, we think of the loving warmth of the people, beautiful beaches, the scent of hibiscus and frangipani... the word Aloha springs to mind. The Hawaiian massage seems to bring with it all these lovely senses from it's heritage. Once upon a time, Hawaiian families would care for one another with massage, and each family (family may mean up to 300 people) would have someone that specialised in a variation of the massage. The massage differs from regular massage as the practitioner uses long flowing strokes with the forearms rather than using mainly the hands and fingers and thumbs. The massage is the ultimate in unconditional loving touch and traditionally begins and ends with a prayer or visualisation of good things - (ie:healthy body, happiness) for the person receiving the massage.
