Counselling
Talk over issues and concerns with someone who is removed from your situation. Some to listen to you... to focus on you.
In a counselling session you unload all the concerns or 'thoughts that have been going around and around in your head'.
Counselling is a time to take those problems out of your mind and bring them out into the open. Talk over the feelings you are holding onto... this is a safe place to cry, express your anger, jealousy, loss or hurt.
Important things to remember when going to see a counsellor
Some of my counselling clients have told me that people have commented that they must be 'cracking up' or 'really be troubled' if they 'have to see a counsellor'.
I want you to remember these points below...
Going to counselling is not a sign of weakness.
Going to a counsellor doesn't mean you are 'cracking up' or 'going mad'.
Going to counselling does not mean that you can't cope.
Counselling is a coping strategy.
Counselling is a way to 'take charge' of your life.
