Counselling Confidentiality - Duty of Care
Our staff keep counselling clients personal information confidential.
Confidentiality of information collected during a counselling session will be upheld at all times except in cases where:
A client is at imminent risk of injury or death by suicide
A client makes specific threats to harm third parties
A client is at imminent risk of injury or death by another person
There are reasonable grounds for believing that child abuse is occurring
Where an intervention may be required to ensure a child's safety.
Where legal requirements deem it necessary to provide information
It may be necessary to discuss matters related to the client for the purposes of providing the best possible service to the client,
with a superivisor.
